Princeton University’s Class of 2026 inducted Stephanie Lewandowski, manager for the Program in Humanistic Studies, as an honorary member during a Class Day celebration on Monday, May 25.
Lewandowski joins a cohort of nine faculty, staff, alumni, and community members who were recognized for their profound impact on the student body.
In the award citation, she was lauded for her “extraordinary service to the Princeton community and her unwavering dedication to students through her stewardship of the Humanities Sequences, her support of undergraduate fellows, and her coordination of courses, events, and trips.”
The citation continued: “She built a community of intellectual curiosity, friendship, and humanistic study with warmth, humor, and generosity. [She] made countless students feel known, supported, and at home.”
Lewandowski joined Princeton University in 1988. She held previous roles in the Department of Electrical Engineering and the Classics Department before joining the Humanities Council in 2017.
As program manager for humanistic studies, she supports the yearlong Humanities Sequence “Interdisciplinary Approaches to Western Culture,” as well as the East Asian and Middle Eastern Humanities Sequences and a variety of core humanistic studies courses and team-taught seminars. She also supports the cohort of undergraduate humanistic studies minors, an active network of Humanities Mentors, and the Behrman Undergraduate Society of Fellows.
