How can computational tools help us to understand art, literature, and history? This seminar offers an introduction to digital humanities (DH), emphasizing the integration of computational methods into the study of humanistic topics. It covers a range of digital approaches through both a creative perspective – to equip students to build, query, and analyze humanities datasets – and a critical one – to empower them as more responsible readers of data-driven arguments and cultural analytics. Students will learn about theories and methodologies for multiple modalities of data, actively engaging with a broad array of digital tools.
